
September 4, 2024—Students pose with their senior little kid backpacks and Class of 2025 shirts as they prepare to kick off their final year at South High.

September 20, 2024—Cheerleaders rally the crowd as students of all grades bring the energy to celebrate South High athletes and school spirit at the Pep Rally.

October 31, 2024—Seniors fill the halls with creative costumes—from spooky to silly to everything in between—as South High celebrates Halloween.

November 22-23, 2024—The curtain rises on South High’s production of the musical Legally Blonde. To senior Alyssa Wong, it “was a chance to create something meaningful by bringing together everyone’s unique talents, and it introduced [her] to some of [her] closest friends.” Senior Chris Fukuda added, “I wouldn’t be able to imagine my high school years without Theatre South…I’m grateful for the memories I made on and off stage, and I’m grateful for the amazing people I’ve met along the way…and I hope I find a similar community in college and beyond.”

December 11, 2024—Seniors showcase their research projects after months of experimentation and writing. According to science research teacher Ms. Spinelli, during Research Roundtables “The underclassmen, as onlookers, absorb new knowledge, get a chance to participate in a Q&A session following each talk, and ultimately come to aspire to be in a similar position presenting at Roundtables when their senior year rolls around.” She also added, “Aside from intellectual discourse, there is some comedic relief as seniors traditionally utilize the acknowledgements slide to “poke fun” at the mentors they have had during their high school careers.”

January 11-12, 2025—The stage becomes a runway as students model original designs during South High’s annual Fashion Show. In the words of coordinator Ava Von Hof, “Getting to organize the show, outfits, and dances was so fun and I got to work with such an amazing team. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without our supervisors Mr. Feldman and Ms. Leung and the other coordinators Rose Angelaras, Isabella Hoey, and Ellie Chang. Getting to style myself and others around the theme “Fashion Show World Tour” was so enjoyable and a great way to see everybody’s creative fashion ideas.”

February 6-8, 2025—Theatre South presents the annual winter play Almost, Maine to a packed audience.

February 27, 2025—Eager students fill the auditorium pit as singers and instrumentalists take to the stage in thrilling Battle of the Bands performances.

February 28, 2025—Students of all grades face off in games and challenges at the annual South High Rebel War (W for the seniors!).

April 4, 2025—South High students roll up their sleeves to donate and make a positive difference at the Spring Blood Drive.

April 4-5, 2025—Students put on a spectacular performance of Strauss’ opera Die Fledermaus, complete with elaborate costumes and a live orchestra. According to senior Nara Lee, who played Rosalinde, the lead female role, performing in the opera was “both challenging and incredibly rewarding…but being part of this comedic production with my friends reminded me why I love opera. If I was given the chance to do this again, I would do it in a heartbeat.”

May 1, 2025—Seniors wear merch on Commitment Day to commemorate where they will be spending their next few years.
