In his nineteen years at South High, Mr. Paul Bott has seen South High through three superintendents, taught three different science classes, and witnessed the school’s change. As he nears the end of his time at South, Mr. Bott recalls his return to teaching after seventeen years in industry, for he has always enjoyed his job in the classroom. “It was because of economics, why I initially left, but I came back when I could,” he commented.
Since his return, he has taught physics AP, physics regents, and earth science, for a while in the middle school as well. His favorite age group to teach are the high schoolers, who he thinks “have a good sense of humor and have a grasp on the realities of life.”
While Mr. Bott will miss his time at South, he has some plans to ease him into the more relaxed pace of retirement. He plans on traveling with his family to California and Nova Scotia over the summer and during the fall and renovating his house. In addition, he looks forward to indulging in his other hobbies, such as boating, biking and golfing.
