As you walk up South’s steps and through the big, blue doors, to your left you will find two smiling faces waiting to greet you. Rushing to the library to finish last night’s homework or cramming for your first period history test, you may just miss those friendly faces, who have greeted you for your entire high school career. Those two cheerful faces are Isaac and Marge, and here is your chance to learn a little more about both of them.

Q: Do you have any hobbies?
A: I love bike riding because it is fun and keeps me in shape. I also used to routinely lift weights, but I don’t do it anymore because now I enjoy bike riding more.
Q: Can you tell us about your family?
A: I have a wife, two daughters, and a son. My son is in the Coast Guard; I am very proud of all he does. My oldest daughter is a nurse, and my younger daughter, who graduated two years ago, is a court stenographer.
Q: How did you get a job at Great Neck South?
A: I met a retired cop who used to work here, and he told me that there was a job opening in the Great Neck district, and that’s how I got here. Before working here, I used to do armed patrols; I used to be an armed guard in Manhattan.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job here?
A: The kids. I love the kids: They give me so much joy. The staff and the administration are nice, too. I’ve been here for 14 years.
Q: What is your favorite part about working with Marge?
A: She is very loving and kind. She is always in a good mood with a smile on her face. Around here, we always have a fun time together.

Q: Do you have any outside hobbies or interests that you pursue at home?
A: I love to garden. My favorite plants to garden are pena roses and wax begonias. This is my favorite activity because it is an outlet to the earth, and it is a nice way of relaxing.
Q: How did you get your job here?
A: Through a friend of mine many years ago. She said how she loved working at this school. She had taken me out for lunch, and she was talking about it. It seemed like such a beautiful place, and it really is. There are wonderful faculty and wonderful students. I love the students. They bring me a lot of joy.
Q: What did you do before you came here?
A: I was a housewife and took care of my two children. I stayed home to raise them. Now one of my daughters lives in Manhattan and works for Bank of America. My other daughter is a teacher and lives in Minneapolis.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working here?
A: Greeting the students and faculty each day, it’s just wonderful. It keeps me young.
Q: What is your favorite part about working with Isaac?
A: He is a perfect gentleman, who has good humor, too. Overall, he is a joy to work with.
