“So let’s make friendship bracelets”—Erin Yeung shows off Taylor Swift’s album titles immortalized through beaded accessories. The fashion trend, which began from a lyric in the 2022 track “You’re On Your Own, Kid,” motivated thousands of fans to create their own bracelets and trade them during the Eras Tours. Like many across the globe, the candy decorating Yeung’s arm serves as a symbolic instance of Swift’s subtle omnipresence in our lives.

The Town of North Hempstead Beach Park opened its oyster beds to ReWild interns and volunteers in 2023. Alongside other South High students, Cynthia Zhang was able to help restore the shellfish population by raising and releasing baby oysters in Hempstead Harbor, which then improves Long Islands water quality as the oysters filter up to 50 gallons of water per day.
