Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour
Does “I got my driver’s license last week, Just like we always talked about” sound familiar? In January 2021, Olivia Rodrigo released “Driver’s License,” reliving her teenage heartbreak while driving through a suburban neighborhood. Rodrigo’s second world tour yields a 22-song set list, including songs from Rodrigo’s sophomore album, GUTS, and her debut album. Concertgoers dressed up in sequins, sparkly eyeshadow, and purple-colored clothing watch as Rodrigo sings about the different shades of girlhood. “It was worth waiting three hours in the cold,” said senior Zoey Ling. From emotional ballads to special guest appearances, “the atmosphere was so magical.” Catch Rodrigo at Wells Fargo Stadium in Philadelphia on July 19, 2024.
Noah Kahan: We’ll All Be Here Forever World Tour
We all discovered a newfound love for Vermont through Kahan’s hit single, “Stick Season.” Kahan incorporates uplifting strums of an acoustic guitar, conveying the hardships that stick season (the time between fall and winter) brings, a critical yet lonely transitional time. The song quickly gained popularity on TikTok, which later led to his SNL debut on December 2, 2023. Since then, he has collaborated with big artists like Post Malone, Gracie Abrams, and Hozier. Many of Kahan’s songs follow a similar format to “Stick Season”: lyrics deeply rooted in Kahan’s love for his hometown and childhood memories. Kahan’s fame has also revitalized the folk pop genre, as Kahan sold out popular venues such as the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles with his current tour.
Metro Boomin and Future: We Trust You Tour
“Metro Boomin wants some more,” Young Thug sings. Over the past year, Metro Boomin has received two Grammy nominations, but he is still aiming for the skies. As a music producer, he has collaborated with various artists such as the Weeknd, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage. Due to these collaborations, fans can expect Metro to bring out a multitude of guest artists. While Metro’s style is largely characterized by trap music, Metro has also dabbled in pop and R&B. As Metro teams up with Future, this rapper producer duo is familiar to the public. Future and Metro released two collaborative studio albums, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, in March and April 2024, which sold 251,000 units in the first week in the US alone.
