The Southerner’s fitting and beautiful tribute to Sally Passarella touches my heart. Sally’s exceptional ability as a teacher first struck me when she was subbing in the English department at South High. Even as a sub, Sally motivated students with lively, interesting lessons. We were thrilled to hire Sally as a full time English teacher. Within a short time she became a superstar in our department. Her kindness and concern for students and colleagues were exceptional. She routinely went out of her way to help her students and colleagues academically and personally. She inspired her fellow English teachers to be the best we could be. Sally will be remembered with our admiration and love.
