On to the Next Course — After 25 years at South, Mrs. Rita Flaherty plans to spend more time with her golf league. She hopes to travel more domestically with her husband, taking advantage of down time beyond just school vacations. Closer to home, Mrs. Flaherty looks forward to attending the sports games of her seventh and third grade grandchildren and making more time for board games. She also hopes to continue reading her favorite genre, historical fiction.

Ms. Greenberg’s Office — Next to the Nurse’s Office sits Ms. Greenberg’s office. Pictures of her children smile above her desk, a warm blanket sits on her couch, and a comforting atmosphere puts students at ease. Over the years, Ms. Greenberg’s walls have accumulated stickers, posters, kind messages, and photos that show how dedicated she’s been to South for the past 28 years.

Alexis Dorf, Editor-in-Chief
Alexis Dorf is a senior at Great Neck South High School and the editor-in-chief of The Southerner. Alexis has been writing for the paper since her sophomore year. Apart from The Southerner, you may find Alexis performing in any Theatre South event. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, listening to Taylor Swift, running while listening to Taylor Swift, and shopping at Trader Joe’s.
Madeleine Lennox
Madeleine Lennox, Editor-in-Chief
Madeleine Lennox is a senior at South High School and Editor-in-Chief of The Southerner with Lana. She hopes to resume analyzing relevant issues and events for the school, and to continue helping to steward the paper during her third year. Outside of school, she is an avid crocheter, painter, and reader. She is co-President of the History Club, an Editor for Exit 33, and co-President of the Art Club.
