Wine as Payment for the Rent—In Act One of La Bohème, Marcello (Chris Fukuda), Rodolfo (Nathan Park), Schaunard (Nandini Khaneja), and Colline (David Kagan) comedically convince their landlord, Benoît (Ethan Lin), to waive their rent. Alexis Dorf is a senior at Great Neck South High School and the editor-in-chief of The Southerner. Alexis has been writing for the paper since her sophomore year. Apart from The Southerner, you may find Alexis performing in any Theatre South event. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, listening to Taylor Swift, running while listening to Taylor Swift, and shopping at Trader Joe’s.

Madeleine Lennox, Special Features Editor

Madeleine Lennox is a sophomore and Special Features Editor of The Southerner. It is her first year on the paper, and she’s looking forward to writing pieces on the humanities and literature, along with news about the school. You may find her reading, doodling, or crocheting when she is not working. She is co-President of the History Club, an Editor for Exit 33, and co-Vice President of the Art Club.
