Avery Zhou is a junior at Great Neck South High School and a Staff Writer for The Southerner. He is very excited for his first year on the paper. Outside of the paper he enjoys talking about current events and is quite opinionated, much to the annoyance of his friends and is a member of the Government Club and Jazz Band. He also (often) tends to get lost in the endless pages of Wikipedia reading about random historical events and forgets what he’s doing.
